This is what my mobile macro lens look like. It’s sort of a magnifying glass lens attached to a clip for you to clip on to your phone. This will enable your phone camera to focus much closer to your subject than it otherwise could. The closer you get means the more the details can be seen – that’s where the fun is. This is what it looks like when you clip it to your phone. You will need to remove the phone protective cover when you use a mobile macro lens.This is what it looks like from the side. In my case, I was fortunate that the clip fitted very nicely over my Samsung S8. It doesn’t fit that well when I tried it on my LG V20.I also tried it out on my wife’s old iPhones. It seems to fit quite snugly in the sense that it’s not loose.
So now that you know what it looks like and how it’s attached to the phone – which is actually quite easy as you can see – you’re all ready to start.
I’m not sure about our local shops selling them. I bought mine from AliExpress and there are many models. I guess Lazada and other online shopping sites should have as well. I’ve seen a few being sold on Carousell as well. I’ll be sharing what lens I have bought in my later posts.
